Pontiac is a fairly young company which was introduced in 1926 by General Motors. Through the years Pontiac has focused mostly on performance type vehicles. The Pontiac name stems from a famous American Indian, Chief Pontiac. Sadly with the current economic downturn and the auto industry woes Pontiac is set to close its doors by the end of 2010.

Some of the most notable Pontiacs include the enormously successful Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am, the Pontiac GTO, Bonneville, Grand Prix and LeMans.
