Tata Motors purchased Jaguar Land Rover, comprising brands, plants and Intellectual Property Rights on 2nd jun 08. Tata Motors acquired these brands from Ford Motor Company for a net consideration of US $2.3 billion, as announced on March 26.
Isn't it a great deal !!!!

indeed a big deal.. hope tata comes out with better cars this time.. the nano and the manza too were not too good in reality.. expecting better mileage with the tata cars

Tata Manza is good car. I think it is the first car from TATA that comes with ABS & airbags........

That's a huge deal for Tata. Jaguar and Land Rover are very prestigious names and should help catapult Tata to an international level. The quality of Jaguar and Land Rover should cross over to their domestic line of vehicles and help provide a boost there. This is an amazing deal I can't believe I hadn't heard of it until now!
