I have an 00 GC w/ 4.7 v-8 auto with the select trac. My problem is while driving @ above 35 mph and I let off the accel, I get a bad whine/ grinding noise from the front/ t-case area. I have replaced the t-case after I found metal in it, I replaced the pinion bearings ( ( inner and outer) and seal. gear mesh looked good, minor glitter in gear oil) found pitting on pinion bearing races.) noise seemed to dissipate some, but still there, remove F-drive shaft, nice and quiet, only mild noise from tires. I am thinking that the D-shaft is faulty, it has a tear in the rear cv joint(bolts to t-case) and I can see where lube has sprayed onto chassis. With shaft out I can select all the modes and no real change except that the Full Time is not working, but I think that has to do with the d-shaft being out. I am at my wits end, HELP!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:
